John Oates is on the mend. One half of the legendary duo Hall and Oates has revealed that he is recovering from emergency gall bladder surgery.

"Last week, I felt pain under my right rib and had to go in for emergency gallbladder surgery. Talk about frightening," Oates shared on the Hall and Oates Facebook page today. "I want to sincerely thank Vanderbilt’s Emergency Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Team who took me in the middle of the night... So many of you and cannot remember all names- I apologize. Aimee (his wife) for insisting we go to hospital and all your care and love. Pommier’s for driving 7 hrs straight to see me. Now 6 days later getting ready to start the first show on H&O tour in Hershey tonight and Madison Square Garden on Friday. Without your unbelievable expertise- my recovery would not be what it is today- I am truly grateful!"

Hall and Oates do indeed kick off the band's tonight in Pennsylvania, with shows lined up September 2, when they touch down Gilford, NH, for the last night of the tour. See more information here. Get well soon, John!
